Pit Roman Legions defend against a T80 Tank

As I start to write about Rise of Nations, I quickly find myself hitting the backspace on my keyboard repeatedly, shaking my head as I try in vain to write a single sentence that would cover all the concepts in this game. My conclusion is that it's impossible to sum up the history of mankind with just a few measly words - I mean encyclopaedias get hundreds of pages, I get no more than 500 words. Traversing the history of mankind is indeed what Rise of Nations is about, from the stone age to the information age, from ancient religions to modern technology, from a spear to a cruise missile!

I rememember playing this game without the time limits on missions then it was fun. Now it has timer for each battle - like one scenario I had a population limit of 200 and had to take over 6 other races (yes each with the same pop limit) now it says use diplomacy but really to win the mission you need to kill all of them. Now I can do that, but not within 80 mins... seems they've changed a fun game into a Geek see how fast I can click the buttons and press 6 shortcut keys at once - great fun if you have an extra arm - time limits makes it feel like work not something I want to do for fun relaxing having a beer :(
