Only decided to play it after reading several glowing reviews, not normally my cup of tea, but I found the bat grapple great fun, the stealthy brutality was great. Shooting from gargoyles, dropping down, the take downs, the thrill of actually pulling off a decent combo ensures plenty of fun, and at times intense, game play. Great story, very dark edges, but really managed to attain the theme of the more recent batman films. One little gripe which I knocked a point off for in the score, I wasn't able to complete on hard, for some reason the Croc episode wouldnt end, a little frustrating, but as it was a 2nd playthru, nothing I couldnt live with.

I have this game via Gamesplanet and I run it on an ATI 5770 Vapor-x with no issues at all. It is quite easily, in my opinion, one of the finest titles of 2009, and is graphically and technically astounding compared to many supposed AAA titles last year. If you have a rig capable of playing it, you owe it to yourself to give it a play, even if Batman isn't your thing.

Batman-Arkham Asylum is definitely one of the greatest video games ever. Although I am not a fan of Batman, I have been deeply immersed in the magical world of this work of art, which is perhaps more a very sophisticated interactive mega-movie than just a plain game. To my feelings, this masterpiece worships a „heritage“ of original comics more than the first three Batman movies from the past century (and I liked it even much more than somewhat overrated Dark Knight movie, which strangely mixed „up-to-date realism“ with an old fairy tale). From gamer's view, everything is almost perfecly polished in Batman-Arkham Asylum: a strong story with an exclusive horror atmosphere, a breath-taking graphics, smoothly working controls, a dynamic fight system, cleverly designed stealth levels... Well, I still have one quite serious objection against Batman-Arkham Asylum: since I am an underaverage player and I do not like tough fights that much, I have played this game on Easy mode. And, „thanks to this“, I finished this game during three afternoons and one evening. What the hell? This supergame with a superhero is simply a little bit too short and perhaps even too linear and easy. But never mind for now, this great story will be continued, ASAP and for sure... So far, my thanks and congratulations to Rocksteady Studios and Eidos Interactive (as well as to Metaboli, btw:o)

Cool game

Screens look great, and judging on the video its gameplay also is very good. 1.5 is only for it's look, and also for the lack of support for ATI/AMD hardware combos.
